Benjamin Kubit - Research Assistant
June 2009 - August 2011; Individual differences in social cognition and non-social reasoning, Meta-analysis and functional annotation I am an undergraduate with majors in Cognitive Science and Psychology and minors in Philosophy and Music. While most areas of research interest me I am particularly interested in attention, social cogniton and neroaesthetics. I currently manage the behavioral data in the lab and would like to pursue a career in cognitive neuroscience after I finish at Case. |

Megan Norr - Lab Manager
June 2009 - June 2011; Individual differences in social cognition and non-social reasoning, Moral Boundaries I graduated from Case Western Reserve University with BAs in cognitive science, English, and French. I worked in the BMC Lab for a year as lab manager, and then went on to pursue a lab manager position at the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab (DCNL) at Georgetown University, under the supervision of Dr. Chandan Vaidya. My current work at the DCNL focuses on executive control in typically developing children and children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). My research interests pertain to the interplay of emotion, social cognition, and executive function, and the study of disorders pertaining to impairment in these processes. I am currently seeking placement in a clinical PhD program. |

May 2009 - May 2011; Attachment and the brain I am an undergraduate at Case, majoring in Cognitive Science and Evolutionary Biology, with a minor in Math. I am working on two fMRI projects in the BMC Lab. The first compares the processing of familiar and unfamiliar faces in partients with Capgras dementia, Alzheimer's dementia and frontotemporal dementia. The second looks at judgements of attachment, attractiveness and neotony in undergraduates. |

2009 - 2011; Attachment and the brain I have an MD from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. I am currently finishing up my residency training in Neurology. My main interest at the BMC lab is the visual processing of faces in undergraduate students and patients with neurodegenerative disorders. I study Capgras delusion as a model for uncoupled cognitive and affective visual face processing. I will be pursuing a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry following completion of my residency training. |

September 2010 - May 2011; Attachment and the brain I am a systems biology undergraduate at Case Western concentrating in Neuroscience. In the BMC lab I am working with George and Rochelle studying face recognition in dementia patients and undergraduates. I plan to pursue training as a medical scientist in neuroscience or neurobiology after graduation, and am interested in the development of the nervous system, how the placebo effect works, and why people sleep. |

November 2010 - December 2010; Meta-analysis and functional annotation I am a senior with majors in Psychology and Sociology and minors in Philosophy and Biology. I am interested in learning, memory, intelligence, and emotion- and I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in Synaptic Plasticity in Neuroscience after I leave Case. I am currently working with the Meta-Analysis project focusing on psychopathy, callousness and compassion. My next project in the lab involves learning styles and their neural correlates. |

Brooke Schepp - Research Assistant
August 2007 - March 2008 I am a recent graduate from Case Western Reserve University! That's pretty much all there is to say there. I am staying in the Cleveland area for another two years to continue my research. I am working in two labs, TAing, and hopefully saving up the money for graduate school. I'm also a huge Case geek and I know more about Star Wars and Lord of the Rings than you know about yourself. |
